Scotch College Adelaide was established in 1919 and is situated in the picturesque foothills of Adelaide in South Australia. Over the past century, Scotch has firmly established itself among the elite independent schools in South Australia with a reputation for offering a forward-thinking curriculum and schooling experience that focuses on providing students with the tools to live an impactful life, not simply achieve a high ATAR score.

Scotch prides itself on being different, providing an education that is the cornerstone of a long and fulfilled life. In addition to a strong and intensive curriculum that includes classic academic subjects, Scotch offers a broad range of subject choices at various year levels, including business and entrepreneurship, drama, dance, visual arts, film making and languages. In addition to core subjects, Scotch offers a huge selection of co-curricular opportunities for students, including sport, performing arts, traditional Highland Dancing, pipe band, oratory programs, outdoor education and so much more.

Scotch College Adelaide has been proudly co-educational since 1972. In preparing young people for life beyond school, interacting with both male and female peers is an integral part of cultivating young leaders and good citizens.

From the Early Learning Centre to Year 12, Scotch has developed a holistic approach to Wellbeing and Positive Education both in and out of the classroom in an implicit and explicit manner. Scotch’s wellbeing vision is to develop engaged and connected learners who possess the knowledge, commitment and passion to enhance their own and others’ lives.

At the top of Scotch’s 20-hectare Middle & Senior Schoo! campus is a fully functioning farm that houses alpacas, pigs, chickens, lambs and more, while also featuring a fully functioning wine making facility.

In addition to the day-student offering, Scotch offers a world-class co-ed boarding experience for up to 108 students from Australia and abroad through its on-campus boarding house, Rosevear. All boarders are provided with numerous
opportunities to develop their life skills through a range of enhancement activities with real-world applications, including starting a small business, first-aid training, boat licences and defensive driving courses.

In 2018, 46% of Scotch’s graduating class achieved an ATAR greater than 90, 31.4% an ATAR greater than 95, 6 students scored greater than 99 and students achieved a total of 21 Merits. Scotch students achieve great things academically,
but it is the focus on a holistic education that sets Scotch apart from its peers. Our students typically follow pathways into Health Sciences with muitiple professional disciplines (including Medicine, Optometry, Veterinary Science,
Paramedics, Specialist Nursing and Allied Health), Business and Entrepreneurship, Creative Arts and professional
degrees including Law, Mathematics, Humanities and International Studies.
